The term “Hotsy Totsy” came from the 1920s. It means something like “very pleasing or good,” or “comfortably stable or secure.”
These Hotsy-Totsy Gloves are long fingerless mittens made with columns of lace and twisted ribbing. Since the ribbing is worked for the whole length, these mittens have a snug fit all the way up the arm on just about anyone.
This pattern is worked from the fingers up to the elbow with a simple thumbhole. You can also choose to knit them shorter, or keep knitting all the way up to the shoulder! The instructions are exactly the same for the left and right gloves.
