This pattern makes 5 small dishcloths on the bias, each with a different pattern: garter, seed, basketweave, mock rib, and diamond. Each dishcloth measures about 5” square, and you can make all 5 from a single, small big-box-store ball of cotton yarn!
Instructions are included for expanding these patterns to any larger size you desire. You’ll be able to create a set of 5 dishcloths 7” square with one extra ball of yarn. With 3 balls of yarn, the dishcloths will be nearly 9” square.
I find this size to be ideal for potholders, trivets, and washing dishes, and so I always make the 5x5 size for myself. They’re easy to machine wash and dry, and just need light tugging after to reblock them.
